What a beautiful winter's day on the lake today with N-N/E winds.
3-5 kts sunny conditions, great day.
Thanks to Greg Reynolds helping me set up the course on the IGA side of the lake which was OK till later in the day when we got wind shifts of 20-30° heading up to the top rounding marks. Very tricky!!
We had 11 starters for race 1 with Steve Lee arriving to sail from race 7 (great to see Steve). Of the 10 races today we had 9 different winners (Jason Poutsma #481 won 2 races) which would indicate that Kev finally has a hang of setting handicaps (he he). Great job Kev, and thanks.
Unfortunately Phil Plowman #257 had issues again with his boat and sat in as RO from race 6.Thanks for your help, Phil. Our new club member Sue Jordan #13 was practising with her DF95 on the other side of the lake when her battery died, so the rescue bait boat was sent out to save the day. A new battery was installed and Sue was back on the water. Due to rescue duties Rosco missed race 2 but it was worth it to see Sue keen to sail.
Nice to see Peter Truphet visit us again who sailed very well all day.
